School Meals

We are proud to work with Chartwells for your children’s school dinners. Chartwells believe that the key to fuelling young minds comes from understanding both what they need and what they enjoy, which is why they develop nutritious and delicious food that pupils love, alongside helping to ensure a healthy body and mind. Their passionate culinary experts work closely with us to ensure every child receives healthy food, perfectly suited to meet their needs and dietary requirements.

The current meal price is £2.85

How to order: Log into your Parentpay account and order online, we advise booking the week's meals in advance on a weekend. Bookings have to be made before 8.15am for that day.

Free School Meals

An application form for free school meals can be downloaded below or obtained from the school reception desk. Such requests and the management of free meals in school is always delat with in a sensitive way.

Entitlement (from ESCC website):

Free school meals can be given if you fall into one of the following categories:

  • you receive Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more thatn £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
  • you receive Income Support
  • you receive Income-Based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • you receive Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
  • you receive support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • you receive the guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • you are entitled to Child Tax Credit, you do not get Working Tax Credit and your family's annual income (as assessed by the Inland Revenue) is not more than £16,190. 
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying Working Tax Credit
